The main aim of staying the night in Alishan was to catch the train ride up to Zhushan (popular “sunrise” viewing deck) to catch the 5:35am sunrise. Since there was’nt much to do except eating and souvenir shopping at night, we did just that and called it an early night to ensure we had enough shut-eyes and energy to be up for the sunrise and the 2 hours trail- walk down in the morning.

We were out of the hotel by 3:30 am, stopped at 7-11 to grab munchies for our wee morning adventure. Sugar booster was needed!

Tried my best to capture shots of the beautiful hues plastered across the sky, mountain and afar; and of course the sunrise which made a splendid entrance, such a surreal picturesque moment. No picture can do justice to how one feels at that stilled moment as you focus your eyes on the changing horizon and witness the break of dawn right before you.
I said a silent prayer of thanks as I welcomed my third day on Taiwan soil and for all blessings that a new day, every day brings.
