The most endearing part of the trip was our night strolls after dinner, with no destinations in mind we would take turns each day going in a different direction from our hotel. Turn right, turn left or hop on the bus to cross the harbour!

It was impromptu, carefree and collected many simple pleasures along the way. The most vivid was hopping onto the first bus in sight, alighting at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and walking the whole stretch from Hung Hom to Victoria Harbour. It was a good two hours walk and bless the good pair of shoes we both had on (mine gave way on our last day heh).

The conversations on such strolls would rally around the people or buildings that we pass by, bits and pieces of thoughts that came to mind or simply, savouring the silence and serenity of the night.

Thanks for being my best night stroll partner – sorry for making you walk so so much on this trip. But won’t you agree its simple pleasures like this that we seem to forgo amidst our busy schedules back home?

Now, all that walking and no pampering is a no-no on such trips, therefore we will usually end the night strolls with either of the two;

Gotta love HK for having foot spas (not those ditzy sorts) and dessert places that are open for business right through midnight!
