Decided to head to Open Farm Community for a long overdue catch-up with the BFF. It was both our first time there and the chance to spend an evening after work in such an idyllic place was really a nice way to start the evening, as well as to share snippets of the month.

The space was truly lovely – reminds me of an old farm house with modern/ rustic interior. I would love to host a small intimate party in such a space in the future, hopefully a baby shower for close family and friends. The menu was fresh and revitalising with a good variety of vegetarian options, categorised into appetizers, small plates, mains and a rather pleasing variety of ‘sides’. The highlight for me was – appetizer: cauliflowers ‘wings’ with tamarind miso sauce was such a crunchy, flavourful delight – I could have eaten the the whole bowl as a meal on it’s own; mains: eggplant with muhammara and roasted chickpeas left a crunchy, tasty aftertaste which was so filling and hearty. We completed the meal with a shared dessert of guava sorbet with coconut jam – I’ve been limiting my intake of cold food, but I must say it was a rule worth breaking for – the texture of guava and coconut, transported me to a far away island filled with clear blue sky, ocean, exotic fruits and me having a massage facing the vast ocean – well, one can dream! (Dessert pic not included – we drove right into it with a sweet vengeance!)

Our dinner topics has evolved so much and even so with some key milestone happening this year – the BFF is getting married! I am beyond happy and even more so, as we continued to have each others’ back, as we navigate our own life, it’s new course and all of it’s smooth and rocky edges.
