The second weekend as a Mrs.- both the Mister and I decided to take a Sat morning off for our own affair and errands. I spent the morning with my naturopath, Dr. S- I highly advocate that everyone needs a Dr. S or a big-hearted naturopath to help you navigate your bodily changes and stresses, which we may overlook or ignore at times when life, simply life gets in the way.
Walked out of Dr. S’s clinic feeling refreshed and excited to step into Surrey Hills, newest outlet at Ion. The grocery section was quaint and had some lovely rows of dried food and confectionaries, which I would love to bring most of it home, but when you know it’s a fraction or less down under (from years of living down under), it was tad hard to justify. On the other hand, visiting the cafe has been high on my list for awhile, glad we managed to make reservations as the place was fully packed with a light, breezy vibe and friendly attendants.
B and I were both famished and decided we shall not share food, so she went for the pulled pork benny and I had the cod fish burger. The minute the food came out we took one looked and said in unison – ‘shall we spilt some with each other?’ Hur Hur. The pulled pork was tender and moist and I would have liked to mashed it up with some runny eggs but B went for scrambled eggs. My cod fish burger portion size could have been a bit more generous – there was something amiss despite a tangy, refreshing dill tartare – the combination of bun, fish and sauce did not equate to ‘the melt-in-your-mouth’ oopmh that I always look out for in a burger.
Time spent with B is always cherished moments and comes harder now as we both have different commitments but we’ve made a pact to block out monthly catch-ups and our annual Japan trip, which we hope we can do next year.
