It’s been such a joy to watch S evolve and grow into a lovely young lady. She has not only done brilliantly on the academic front but also on the non-academic front by being a key member of the student council and school’s debate team. I love how she’s risen to every challenge and nominations presented by her teachers; from running for student council earlier this year, to representing the school in exchange programs and emceeing few of the school’s key events.
On a recent exchange trip to Kyoto/Osaka, she came back with some lovely hand-picked gifts for the family. I was extremely touched that she included me in the category of family, since technically I am only the BFF of her favourite Aunt :). Thank you for thinking of me, my dearest S.
I am sure the origami crane earrings and the message that she inscribed along with the gift – Jasmine Ah Yi, sending you lots of love and blessings – will ring true for many years to come for S and all our loved ones (oh yes, myself included hehe).
As the year comes to an end, I cant’t help but calibrate on what I’ve achieved, reflect on what went well and not, but more importantly – I count my blessings for the love and bond that has grown stronger against the impermanence of life.
