Whisky or Whiskey

The Whisky Experience was booked by the sister for our Dads.  If time permit, we would have probably draw lots and chose a whisky producing region to spend few days at. Since there was no such luxury, we went on a very informative 90 minutes tour on the 5 main producing regions – detailing the specific sources, use of grains/pleats, characteristics of each of the region and followed by a tasting. The guide was a young lady of 25 years of age with the most amazing Scottish accent and basically, blew us away with her anecdotes of specific malts, surrounding regions and piping in her own family stories and their incredulous love for whisky.

The Dads were equipped with their own knowledge and didn’t really pay much attention – sorry- they were too busy being enchanted by the Diageo Claive Vidiz Whisky Collection. We couldn’t blame them, we were each amused with the vintage collections of some of our much liked bottles.

Needless, to say the excitement was hard to contain when we go to the shop. Let’s just say it contributed to a good portion of our luggage space(s). Being the lazy one, I tend to not remember names of drinks, eats or origins but when it comes to my fav bottles of whisky/wine…my memory won’t fail me, so come let me summarize the regions of some our loots:

  • Islay – Bowmore
  • Speyside – Dalmunach , Royal Salute (the Uncles couldn’t give this amiss)
  • Lowland – Auchentoshan

I guess its fair to note that few bottles have miraculously disappear and none of it has to do with me 🙂
