Whilst attempting to do a proper butterfly pose – pushing the thighs and knees closer to the floor, bending my back straight and forward – I felt a pair of warm hands on my shoulder, assisting to push it down further, and gently lingered on to ensure that the position was maintained.
I inhaled and exhaled slowly as I allow myself to go deeper and deeper, feeling the slight pull and release of accumulated tensions and worries flow from my upper body.
And while, I expect for the hands to lift and move onto the next student, it didn’t and seconds later, I felt the the warmth on my sweaty neck, proceeding to rub away the tension.
Such a simple act but when undertaken in that space, that intimate space on the mat that you share with no one but yourself, was endearing and heartwarming.
It reminded me once again the beauty of being, the simplicity of the heart’s desires and more importantly, the power of a touch or connection when the heart and soul is feeling slightly off-balance.
I am filled with gratitude for you, GF. Namaste.
