Another quick ‘zip in and out’ work trip to Bangkok this week. Being the monsoon season, we got caught in few showers and drizzles but considering office- hotel etc, are all in the same vicinity, it doesn’t create much of an hassle. Furthermore, the cooling air was a nice respite from my last trip here three weeks back.
Majority of my work trips are solo, and so when the opportunity and need arise for some of the regional work colleagues/buddies to be in town as well, it doubles us as a catch-up/ down-time for us in the afternoon or evenings to chat over coffee/nightcaps or dinner. It helps that these are humans I really enjoy mingling and spending my precious evenings with.
On one of the days, we decided that we worked long, hard and deserve to leave at 5pm for a walkabout at Emquartier. I wanted to check out Another Story – a concept store that sells goods from around the world, mainly stationary and household stuff. Nice enough, we have similar likes and quirks, so we threw in a quick jaunt around the supermarket reminding each other of the junk (food) we should be avoiding heh. And, when our eyes caught the matcha soft-serve stall, it wasn’t hard to convince each other to plonk down and share a cup, whilst we reminisce about good eats in Japan (and Korea – this one lived for few years in both country and is fluent in both language).
Thereafter, a slow stroll to Supanniga in Thong Lor got the stomach ready for dinner :).
