So it’s been 6 days of being 32 years on earth. Gosh, am I really that old? I don’t feel a day over 32 nor do I look it (or at least that’s what I want to believe hur hur ). I’m going to risk sounding like a broken, mass-market record here sprouting this, but with age – birthdays is just another day in your life, not too bland nor too colorful but simply special. Another day in life – which some of us choose to reflect and acknowledge FURTHER the blessings we have in our lives, as we celebrate that ‘another day’ with the many or few humans that matters the most.

Two years into the 30s club – I must say despite some of its curveballs and sour lemons thrown my way, its been nothing short of awesomeness. I’m a firm believer of women need not be a stunner, but she must carry herself with elegance, fill her brain with knowledge and wisdom, and heart with love and grace. Undoubtedly, that is what I shall wholeheartedly embrace, embody and be – and the same belief and takings that I wish upon all my beautiful girl friends.

Onto re-collecting some of the events, fatty delights and merry-making I had leading up to my birth.day. Shall let the pictures do the yakking:

Oh yes, the little pouch of a belly has returned filled with lots of yummy food, and slightly cranky from the meats absorbed but it’s alright – normalcy will return soon.

Celebrating with my Lovelies
Celebrating with my Lovelies

The lovelies went out and about in making the day (or leading up to the day) special in their own unique ways;

– Ken and I shared a bottle of wine at Blu Bar – toasting to a year older but wiser and musing over the events of the past year and how much we both have grown.

– Kiang and Sher made sure my wallet stayed in my bag that whole day and footed the bills from hair treatment, drinks, dinner and more drinks. Love this newly-minted tradition of ours!

– Work peeps surprised me with a home-made chocolate cake that was just oh-so moist and delicious .

– Elaine and I spent a fuss-free evening at Tiong Bahru Bakery and trying out boots at Robinson. She gave into my Bruce Lee adoration and ordered a Bruce Lee iPad cover for me –  “very de handsome (insider joke).

– Billie joined in on our family dinner – gifted me a beautiful pink agate. Mei was irritating as usual but that’s her and love her to bits. The parental aside from a wonderful birthday dinner, sent me two simply written, beautiful poems on my birthday, wishing nothing but happiness for me.

And with that, my just ‘another day’ passed on by, filling my heart with abundance of love and gratitude, which I’m sure will carry forth till the next ‘another day’ beckons.

Happy Birthday (belated), to me.
