We did pretty well on hitting our massage quota on this trip – 1 full body massage and 2 foot massage sessions. We would have liked for a session of traditional Thai body massage but with all the walking, shopping and hunting for good food the idea was canned, along with dinner at Blue Elephant, for reasons we shall not disclose here *tee hehehe*. I’m curious to know if anyone ever been to Blue Elephant – drop me a line of what’s your take on the place. Nonetheless, we still managed to meet some elephants…gravity-defying ones 🙂

Oh, you are too cute!

Dinner time was spent at Central Mall, we were too tired to walk all the way to Siam Paragon and decided on Taling Pling, a regular hunt for work peeps and myself whenever we’re in BKK and a big favourite with our local manager. I’m no expert in Thai cuisine but I like this place for the semblance of local, home-cooked goodness that it brings to the table. Our top dishes that night was the (1) tom yum soup with veggie omelettes and (2) grilled pork with sticky rice;

I must say it was a flavourful and satisfying last meal in BKK. The gf and I were engaged in a somewhat heavy conversation on spiritual growth and our personal development during dinner, the crowning point of the conversation took place during after-dinner drinks at the lounge, more on that in a while.

Took a quick stroll around Central before calling it a night with the plan to head back and pack our suitcase and huge-ass duffel bags ,which I was actually dreading. Who likes to pack?! Well, on the other hand I don’t really pack..I just throw everything in and sit on my luggage to close it up. So I was glad that the gf took up my suggestion for drinks at the hotel lounge. Me trying to limit any form of alcohol intake opt for a fresh coconut blend – oh dear me..what a bad choice, which I found out three hours later – and the gf opt for a beer (smart choice!). The conversation we had at dinner continued, we spoke openly and I believe as honest as we could be on our thoughts, feelings on life and friendship. We spoke of our own friendship and how to a certain extent, we were not as close as we should be.  I personally felt it was a remarkable conversation, brutally honest as a matter of fact – but am so happy we got around to it and may our “energy” open our hearts, and allow our friendship to flourish further, girl. With that said, thank you…you are a good friend, and always a good partner-in-crime at the work front.

So fast forward to three hours later, I was shivering, feeling immense chills and oncoming fever. Woke the gf up at 2 am and asked her to feel my forehead – was definitely burning up, felt a bit nauseous but not enough to get it out of my system. The gf went down to get Panadol for me, tucked me into bed with another blanket. The fever was probably making me delirious cause I remembered waking up a few times by my own voice *sheepish grin* , come morning whatever that had to come out did so – felt a bit better but not good enough. I was a complete goner from the hotel to airport and the entire journey home. Bless the gf who was  constantly making sure I was getting enough liquid into my system. Sorry for ruining our last few hours in BKK, Sher.

Rushed to the family doctor the minute I arrived Singapore, was told I had a serious (duh!!) case of food poisoning and most likely from the coconut ice blend, which was either not fresh or kept out in the open for days. I was knackered out for 1.5 days before I regain appetite, energy and went back to being my old self.

How dramatic is that? Nonetheless, need to thank the big guy above and my lucky stars for 3.5 awesome days of gallivanting around BKK with the girlfriend.

Pretty nice way to end the work and leisure trip counts for 2012, nice one to add to the memory bank and highlight of 2012.
