My Grandmamma and I went on a date yesterday. We made plans earlier on in the week, when I received approval to take Friday off.

We shopped – visited her favorite crystal shop (bought her a pair of moonstone earrings, told her it’s an early Christmas present), sat down for coffee and ended the day at the theatre. We kept the conversation light-hearted; she was worried that work was consuming way too much of my time, discreetly swerving away (reads: trying her best not too) from questions on my love life and gave me her “current affairs” updates – gardening, drama serials, daily trips to the markets, and family matters.

It was a glorious afternoon with my Grandmamma. Makes me wish for less commitment and more time on hand to spend with this ‘little, old girl’ and her beautiful wrinkles,  dry humour (that always gets to my funny bones) and endless of stories to share.

Grandmamma’s love is so simple, full of patience and like sprinkles of star-dust in our lives – makes everything in the world better, no matter how dreary it seems.
