Oatmeal fever has hit me hard. I had oatmeal 4 out of 7 days last week.
Oatmeal was a big favorite of my Grandma and whenever Mum starts missing her own Mummy, she’ll whip up a bowl of hot oatmeal with a dollop of organic honey and sit at the dining table, savoring every spoonful while she reminisce of her deceased Mum.
And, while she scraps the bowl clean she’ll remind me for the 10000 times the benefits of oatmeal, of course what got me listening was when she says it assist in weight loss :).
What are the benefits of Oatmeal? Well, from the majority of articles on the web (and my own Mother’s reference), it does the following magic;
– lowers blood pressure
– spread the rise of blood sugar over a longer period of time,
– regulates bowel movements (oat’s a great source of fiber)
– soluble fiber in oats delays stomach emptying and makes you feel fuller
– good balance of protein and fatty acids which is great for overall health
Here’s my own “oatmeal” meals that’s kept my oatmeal “kick” pretty high and satisfied.

I found some great sites with oatmeal recipes (here, here and HERE- The Oatmeal Artist) and hoping to give some of it a go soon, real soon.
If you’re an oatmeal lover or just jumped onto the bandwagon like me, would love to hear and see pics of your recipes. Give me a holler!
