Nowadays with work commitment and all, we tend too “chop” dates with each other 2- 3 weeks in advance. Ahh ..the trials and tribulations of being an adult 🙂 – gone are the days of just a call and we’ll be out gallivanting around town. With that said, it does make one treasure even more the time spent with the dearies in our life.

A colleague was sharing her thoughts on friendship with me the other day, she feels that with age one does become more apprehensive in making new friends and tends to stick to those that knows us inside out (and vice versa). My take? Friendship needs cultivation and I don’t want to waste time on those that don’t see/view it the same way as I do, it’s a two way traffic. I guess with the hustle and bustle of daily commitments and activities, we’re just more conscience conscious of our time and the people we spend it with.

Anyways, what was on the cards for us yesterday? A quick bite at Bangkok Jam , food was so-so and definitely didn’t rock my socks off. I had the olive fried rice, requested the kitchen to remove the minced pork from the dish- rather fragrant and not as saltish as I was expecting it to be. BFF had the chicken basil, fried egg and rice dish – says it was mediocre. Overall, the ambiance and simplicity of the food is worth a trip back – if you’re looking for a quick bite and simple comfort food to fill the tummy. The wait for the food wasn’t that long but considering we were there at 4ish – so that probably won’t be a good gauge of their service and quality during peak hours.

The thought of authentic Thai food and reading Lady J’s entry on BKK shopping earlier in the day had me texting the GodSissy – “I want to go shopping in BKK”, she’s heading home to meet the family in Dec. Let’s hope I can squeeze a weekend trip there for some crazy,  dirt-cheap shopping jaunts with the brat.

We had tickets booked to catch Magic Mike  after dinner –  lousy storyline (or simply the lack of it) but it was just one of those flicks to catch on a lazy Saturday, purely for “eye-candying”  purpose. Channing Tatum ..boy, can he move (loved him since Step Up days).

Stopped by PAUL for some after-movie drinks/desserts and for BFF to hear my current love-life woes hur hur. I love how she puts things in perspective and gives the sanity check I need to get out of this rut that I feel myself sinking into.

AT PAUL with the BFF (Side note: I need to get another pair of specs)

Came across this quote yesterday and I can’t agree more (and very apt in my case) :

“I love you, BUT I love myself more”

(I’ve gone through enough in life not to put myself in a situation where I need to bend backward and forward for someone, it needs to be a two way thing and if not, well ..I’m sorry. Hasta la vista, Amigo)
