The course of antibiotics was completed earlier on this week. Hallelujah!
It’s been a good 1.5 month of coughing, coughing and more coughing. Whole load of restraints were thrown my way – no cold drinks, no heaty food, no chicken, no eggs (some old wives’ tale), and certainly NO running.
Total bummer I tell you.
The last 10 KM ran was on 27th May 2012. I really do miss running, actually I miss having a good sweat-out!
The body has become horribly sluggish and lethargic with the truckload of medicine it’s been force to consume, so to spur on the metabolism and get some regime in place – a dear trainer-friend has given some tips to heed;
1. Gain lean muscle mass – knowing your BMR will assist in working out a calories deficit plan of cutting back/burning calories through exercise.
2. Strength/Conditioning training – extra pound of muscle mass burns 50 calories (additional) – enough said!!
3. Watch what you eat, Eat Right – don’t let your body go into starvation mode. Eating every 2-3 hours keeps you feeling satiated and even sugar level keeps the cravings away. That reminds me to stock up on my organic mixed nuts and preserved fruits.
4. Get a good night of rest – your body and mind will thank you for it. Lack of sleep decreases the number of calories your body burns. Guilty as charged – I vow to be in bed by 11 pm, which is plainly hard for me.
Hope the above helps if you’re looking to rev up your metabolism too!
