Ensuring a semblance of balance in my life is very important – especially with committed time for the fogies/family, evening work calls, exercise, friends and me-time.

I tend to do one social appt/date on the weekday and another during the weekend – if possible. Certain weeks, I’ll be out the whole week that weekends will be save for myself, gym, fogies, and myself. Huge advocate of spending time alone, to unwind, let go and think of whatever that needs to be think/thought about.
Recapped of last week’s social calendar, involving food and good company ..what else?!!
Queen and Mangosteen

Sat outside facing the sentosa waterfront, dimmed lights with a cup each of pimm’s&lemonade. I couldn’t help but exclaimed to the gf – this is how I need to spend the evening after a day of crazy issues and deadlines.
The modern rendition of British pub grub is refreshingly simple and nice – their sandwich with grilled portobello mushrooms always does it for me. Oh yes, and another cup of pimm’s &lemonade.

My fav Pimm’s & Lemonade
Our grub: M’s risotto and my sandwich

Green Beer at Red Dot
Thursday’s dinner with work associates. Both flew in for a senior management meeting and considering dinner with them has always been  in  China, Taiwan or HK. We had to get them out for an evening of drinks here in Singapore.
One of the director is a huge beer lover – needs to have a glass of two every night with his meal. So we chose Reddot, for them to have a go at the green beer along with finger foods (the works – pizza, sausages, and satays!) and even though, I would have liked to stop revolving our conversations around work – it was simply not possible with these two.

Oh well, made up for it by popping to Pique Nique for desserts once we dropped them off at the hotel, both couldn’t stay late due to 9 pm calls with US. Desserts and conversations not surrounding work with a colleague cum friend – now we’re talking 🙂

Gusttimo di Roma

Friday night means comfort food and hearty chats with nary a care to the week past and looming piles of work waiting for me on Monday.

The dearie didn’t get much shut-eye the night before but that didn’t deter her Friday mood. We ordered more food then we can finished, but did wipe out the main course whilst nibbling on the rest. Such gluttons, I know (see pic below).

But one thing we both have in common: we need to treat ourselves well, and we surely deserve it for all the hours we both put in at work.

Love my Fridays with you, Sis!

No prize for guessing that I’ve been itching for a run- especially with all the desserting-eating that I’ve been doing. Strength training will suffice for now, and boy did I train this weekend. My glutes and every inch of me screams with angst at every, little movement made.

But ..but ..I totally dig the pain and can’t wait to get back on the running tracks and couple with 3 x strength training a week. Need to GET FITTER!
