We made plans to catch Sandy Lam’s concert when E was still in Milan and ready to uproot herself back home. Again. Being the avid concert-goer that I am – it was not hard for me to give an immediate “yes” and of course it wasn’t all about the concert but spending time with one of my dearest.

So much has change since her 2 year stint abroad. Right before my eyes is a stronger, wiser E that’s built a distinctive persona for herself. She’s learn to accept the many curve-balls and dealings in life; learn to smile through her pains and understand the true value of one’s self.

“Inner happiness is what we shall constantly seek”

Amidst Sandy Lam’s awesome stage charisma and belt- outs of ballads, it was not hard for one to immerse in her songs on love, loss, pain, betrayal, and loneliness. Especially so, if one can relate the songs to the bittersweet encounters in their own book of life. During the encore, E and I held hands, swayed with the music, thoughts afar but with a certain amount of calmness in knowing- things will eventually turn out fine. We are blessed. Remember that, dearie.

Leaving you with Sandy Lam’s medley performance at the Golden Horse Award 2011 in Taipei, which she adapted to her concert here as well. Oh, and how can I not gush of her beauty – the enchanting aura, maturity, intelligence, strength and all those wonderful qualities I hope to have when I’m in my 40s (she’s 45 this year).
