I’ve blog-procrastinate for way too long. Gosh, with a blink of an eye the first Q of the year is gonna whizz us by real soon (March – is going to be crazy with the house move, all plans on-hold to cater for the move).

Got back yesterday from a work trip to Taiwan – the week long trip had me thinking twice on a possible relocation to the island of Formosa for a year. I’ve played around with the idea of living there for ages, for reasons that are purely unexplainable but to only say, I must have been a Taiwanese in my past life. The place just brings so much joy and warmth to the heart.

We stayed near the office, and that gave me somewhat of an insight to what my daily work routine would be like – from the morning commute to work, the lunch time crowd, interactions with the locals etc. The envisioning of myself doing this for a year kinda turned the idea into a bland mix of not too sure – to finally confirming, I much rather be rooted back here, in Singapore.

I jokingly told the cousin that a possible move would only occur for the other half or a much better work opportunity, if not, I’m better off within familiar grounds. With that said, Taipei is still one of my favorite cities – with night markets opening till late, we managed to sneak in late strolls within the Rao He and Tong Hua markets – piling up the calories with local delicacies.Heavenly! On our last night, the best (guy) buddy took us to a pub featuring singers from local, variety singing shows – such live performances are quite popular amongst the locals, especially the younger, working class. Nice way to wind down from the week-long madness and our last night in Taipei.

Me with my mandatory BBT at Tong Hua Night Market;

Met up with the buddy who’s been base in TW for a year now – first night’s dinner was on him!

Shave Ice with 5 toppings of your choice – my fav was the yam balls, extremely QQ and just melts right in your mouth. Having this in a 19 degrees C, was pretty awesome!

Another one of TW’s pride (aside from Linsanity hehe), all the managers wanted to bring us here for lunch or dinner. If you asked me I thought it was rather so-so…

One of my must- visits whenever I’m in Taipei: Long Shan Shi – was thrilled to bring the colleague there after dinner one night;

Ahh can’t leave without having a bottle of local brew – this along with hotpot and great company was nothing short of happiness for me;

Work colleague-buddy and I at ZeeLive House;

Stayed on for a part of Ming Xiong’s performance, we left when he was onto Hotel California..will be back again (I’m sure!);

Last day’s breakfast before catching the flight back, Yong He – another must, however we had to give the main branch amiss this time round;

Taipei, I’m definitely heading back this year to see you again!
