Apologies for the radio silence.
I just got back from a work trip to Beijing, China. This must be one of the least stressful work trips I’ve ever been on, save for the presentation that I had to conduct on the second day. The group was fantastic and individual time spent with some of them was enriching – elevated the working relationship to the next level in my book.
Work aside, the weather in Beijing was awesome – 18-20 degrees; made it great for evening strolls after dinner. The gf and I took long walks in the evening – talks were peppered with whole range of topics such as societal occurrences in China (from social networking to the popularized matchmaking shows that’s churn upon debatable discussions of new age China and values ), daily life back in Chengdu (for her) and Singapore (for me), her passion in Chinese tea and agriculture, Chinese history (my passion for the Kangxi era still runs high) and sometimes, we walk in silence – soaking in the surroundings and each other’s company.
Snippets from the 2 hr stroll from the hotel to Tiananmen Sq.

Told the gf that I’ve felt such at ease (and calmness from within) during the evening strolls in the crisp, autumn air and so she quips “Come to China every Autumn..to take evening strolls and drink Chinese tea with me”.
I may just take you up on that, woman.
