Tonight’s meet up with the Perth girls was a long-awaited dinner date. Being caught up with commitments of all sorts – weddings, work, travels, social activities etc – it has not been easy to get all three of us to sit down for a good meal or drink. But tonight, we managed to do it and download of all the recent updates/happenings in our lives was done in a zooming speed.

I acknowledge that at certain chapters of our lives, certain friendships will change form and not withstand the pace of each individuals growth and doings in the current stage of their life. I don’t view the disconnection negatively, as I believe there’s many reasons for friendships to drift but the care and concern for that individual surely does not lessen, not for me at least. Sometimes, we may even be guilty of robbing our friends the opportunity to be there for us, especially when we don’t share what we think and feel. We may even be sending them the wrong message that we’re the type of friends that won’t be there for them. Have you disconnected yourself from a long-time friend recently? If so, pick up the phone and give him/her a call..”hello, how have you been?” is always a nice way to start.

Sorry for the digression above – received a lovely present from J. Thanks for the thought and I look forward to the dim sum brunch in Sept. Yes, we have to plan and slot in appointments 1 month in advance heh. (T – let me know your travel dates)
