Ever since I was a little girl – Sundays would always be known as ‘Dim Sum’ day for the family. A tradition that will continue to be in the family for years to come. From Chinatown, New York to Singapore and to whichever holidaying country we’re in, Sundays will always be a day for the family to sit down and yum cha together.
Following through with the tradition – Bestie and I headed off to Maxim Palace on the first Sunday we were in HK. I’m sure we could have gone to a hole in the wall restaurant in Wanchai, serving good o’l Dim Sum with quality no less than what Maxim can offer. But being the first Dim Sum meal in HK, we opt for the beautiful harbour view, the push cart trolleys with wide variety of Dim Sum, and it’s fine china tableware and teapots .

The dim sum spread was nothing to scream about but we did spend a good hour there, sipping on tea, picking on our selected dishes, soaking in the liveliness of the restaurant – and adding to my visual dictionary of yum cha culture.
Go for the experience, if you’re ever in the area try to get there before 11am – or risk the long, looming queues.
