In few days time, I’ll be off to Hong Kong for a well-needed and deserved break with the bestie.
The bestie and I have been on a crazy work schedule since the beginning of the year, with that said, CAN YOU BELIEVE IT’S JUNE NOW??!! – as the saying goes, ‘ time and tide wait for none’. It’s been a crazy 6 months with demanding work issues and the occasional feeling of distraught and the ‘am I in the F-in right job’ sign flashing brightly in the mind. But I’ve got through it, much stronger person than I was back in January and I’m optimistic that the remaining year is going to be just as challenging but …good.
Bestie and I have decided that all we want to do in Hong Kong for the 7 days there is to explore the place – find new hunts, fill our tummy with delicious food, shop to our heart’s content and most importantly, spend time with each other. No itinerary has been drawn up, we’ve both quite familiar with the place, except for some of the hidden outlets or wall in the hole restaurants that the locals patronize etc, but I’m sure the local friends will be able to share and guide us. Speaking of local friends, I’m looking most forward to meeting up with two of my uni friends that I haven’t seen since graduation.
To top it off, there’s always an interesting story to tell from our yearly trips – two that win hands down, and we’ll probably still be talking about it decades latter is the eerie hotel incident in Korea 2004 and the spooky picture I took in Beijing 2010. Hmmm…I do wonder what’s in store for our first 2011 trip – no more eerie stuff please, the last incident had me sleeping with the lights on for weeks :).
The new netbook is going to make it’s first trip abroad, so surely be updating this space on our daily hunts and finds.
